Can’t get rid of Windows Accelerator Pro virus? Well, the Windows Accelerator Pro firewall alert pops up on my screen when i just log in to the desktop on Windows 8. It stopped my access to any other programs. And it shows lots of infections on my computer after scanning. I can’t do anything but get the warning, it is crazy. How can I remove the malware and gain my access to my personal computer?
The Windows Accelerator Pro virus is an attack that attempts to trick the computer user into thinking that it is a real security scanning program that requires to be updated before it can properly remove dangerous files from the computer. Once this virus is installed onto the computer it alters the system settings to launch as soon as the computer is started. The user will see a window open that resembles several of the more popular anti virus scanning programs and it will look like it is performing a live scan of the entire system. It is not an actual scan, but instead a pre-scripted program that has been designed to look like a real scan.
At a glance it looks like all of the files on the computer are being searched while the program looks for infected files or potentially dangerous problems. When the Windows Accelerator Pro virus stops the “scan” it displays a list of dangerous files that present a danger to the computer. The user can then select an option that would delete these from the computer. Naturally everyone is going to select this option because they want them removed right away. When this is clicked on a message will display that alerts the user that the virus scanning program needs to be updated in order to complete the removal process. There is a charge to do this and the user can pay directly on the screen with a credit card.
If the user pays the money for the fake upgrade they will assume that everything is fine because the virus message will disappear and it will never be seen again. This will unfortunately give the user a false sense of security. They will think that their computer is safe and being protected since they just updated their virus scanning software when it fact their computer is at risk and still contains the Windows Accelerator Pro virus files installed on the computer which can result in more malicious files being installed. You have to delete the fake alert as soon as possible.
If the user doesn’t upgrade right away they will be continuously reminded that they are at risk. When the virus is first installed on the computer it disables several programs and if they user attempts to open any of those that were disabled a message will display saying that there has been malicious files detected. Here are some examples of those warning messages:
“Security Warning
Malicious program has been detected. Click here to protect your computer.
Firewall Warning
Hidden file transfers to remote host has been detected.
has detected a leak of your files through the Internet. We strongly recommend that you block the attack immediately.
iexplore.exe cannot start
File iexplore.exe is infected by W32/Blaster.worm. Please activate Windows Accelerator Pro to protect your computer.”
