I have this FBI virus on my HTC phone. I have to admit that I was watching pornography (Don’t judge) the other day. All of a sudden, the FBI virus just popped up and locked me out of my phone demanding $100 gift card to unlock. I have no idea how to remove this virus. Should I pay the fine? Need help!
FBI virus is dangerous ransomware, which belongs to cyber criminals who steal the name of FBI to scare our innocent users. The cyber criminals has spread the infection rapidly to millions of phone and tablet users in these years.This type of virus has already became famous for their extremely dangerous payment tool parasites, such as Homeland Security virus, null virus and many other ones. FBI virus blocks your mobile devices and asks for ransom to unblock. According to our research, a large amount of the victims choose to pay the fine to the cyber criminals but never think about how remove the FBI virus completely. The logo and name of FBI made them believe that they did violate the local laws and other legal policy. Actually, the warning message has nothing to with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Even if you bought a gift card and gave them the code, it would not help you unblock your device. Though you got the so-called code, the virus would continue to stay on your device until you get it removed.
FBI virus is distributed through several means. Malicious websites or legitimate websites that have been compromised are the common means that you need to be cautious with. If you always opened those websites, you would get the high risk to be infected with virus. You should have a second thought before you visit the websites. This will keep you away from virus. Another way used to propagate this kind of ransomware is spam email containing infected attachments or links to malicious websites. The cyber criminals will send millions of email with the attachment carrying virus to Internet users. If you download and open it for your curiosity, you would get the infection very easily. Therefore, you should ignore the email with attachments which is from unknown person.
This FBI virus can hijack your Internet, Safari or other browsers. When you open your browser, you will see the fake FBI warning asking you to pay. You just can’t get rid of it and access your browser though you restart your device.. Besides, it can lock you out of your mobile device. You can turn off and restart your device. However, you only have about 10 seconds on your device before it locks everything. Sometimes, this virus can be more aggressive. You even can’t turn off your device after it infected with this virus. FBI virus will claim that your device has been involved in downloading and distributing pirated content, spreading spam, visiting malicious websites and similar activities thus demanding a $100 gift card within 48 to 72 hours in order to lift the ban on your mobile device. No matter that it looks trustworthy, you should never pay this fine of $100 or $500 gift card because this won’t unblock your device. You have to remove FBI virus to unblock your device. Unfortunately, most of the antivirus programs can not remove the FBI virus easily by now as they can not detect the FBI virus when it sneaks into your device. Therefore, the most effective method of removing FBI virus is to use the manual way until now.
Step 1: Please try to put the infected android phone into Safe Mode at first to unlock the screen temporarily from This Virus
(1). For various android phones: hold down the power button to bring out the menu with Power Off and Reboot option—-hold down the Power Off option (If nothing happens, please tap and hold the Reboot option instead)—-click OK on the pop-up box asking if you want to access safe mode
(2). For Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5: power off the device—-turn on and tab the soft-touch Menu button repeatedly
(3). For Samsung Galaxy S3 and other phones with similar customized android system: power off the device—-turn on and hold down the Volume Down button (try Volume Up or Volume Down and Volume Up together if Volume Down does not work) when the brand logo shows up
You will see “Safe mode” at the lower left corner of the screen if you access safe mode successfully
Step 2: Search and remove suspicious files which are related to the virus

To prevent being scammed by the cyber criminals, when having FBI virus on your mobile device, you should never think that it is sent by the real Federal Bureau of Investigation. Actually, this virus program is a tool used by the criminals to extort money from innocent people. No real authority department will ask you to pay fine with gift card. The policemen would give you a call or official document to inform you, or just show up at your door directly if you did get in trouble with them. Hence, if you receive FBI warning asking for fine with $ 100 gift card, ignore this fake warning and do not ever pay the fine. However, there is one important thing that you have to do. Remove the virus to unblock your mobile device right now! The hackers keep controlling the virus all the time. They can update the virus program now and then. The virus may ruin your device further and get your sensitive data. You must stop it as soon as possible!
