I have a lot of pop-ups on my browser recently. So I downloaded Malwarebytes and scanned my computer, it turns out that my computer has a lot of “PUP.Optional.BestBuy.A”. I tried to remove all of them, but it didn’t work. I have done it from the safe mode with networking too, but on the next scan the PUPs are found again, usually at around or just over 500. Is my computer or my personal information dangerous? How do I get rid of this unwanted thing from the computer completely?
PUP.Optional.BestBuy.A is classified as Potentially Unwanted Program (as known as PUP) that can install on a target computer without any permission and knowledge. It usually refers to malicious browser plug-in and can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. Therefore, it can corrupt the targeted Internet browser by installing annoying toolbar and causing browser redirection to bother PC users. This program is also able to change your homepage and default search provider. It even works like adware that can display tons of disturbing ads in all sorts of forms on your screen like pop-up, banner, in-text and link ads.
